Innovative road surface coating
Track Line Tyregrip is a very hard-wearing and fade-resistant road surface coating. This innovative and rapidly curing coating consists of a flexible, two-component epoxy resin combined with grit. The grit embedded in the epoxy resin creates a very wear-resistant coating, enabling Track Line to guarantee a service life of no less than 10 years.
Track Line Tyregrip requires:
- Clean surface
The road surface must be free from pollutants such as oil and mortar dust.
- Dry surface
The road surface must be dry, and precipitation forecasts must be nil for the duration of the work.
Before commencing work, Track Line will inspect the condition of the road surface to determine which preparations, if any, will be needed to ensure the proper adhesion of the Track Line Tyregrip coating. Track Line will also make recommendations for any necessary repairs to remedy damage to the road surface before the work can commence. In addition the ambient temperature must be between 10 and 25 ℃ in order to enable the flexible two-component epoxy resin to be processed.
Work and execution
The Track Line Tyregrip flexible two-component epoxy resin is applied as a single coating which is then saturated with grit, using between 8 and 10 kg of grit per square metre. The flexible two-component resin adheres to the grit to create a wear-resistant, non-fading and rough top layer. The curing time, a.k.a. the pot-life, of the resin is 2 to 3 hours, depending on the ambient temperature. Once the resin has cured, the excess material is removed using a sweeper/vacuum vehicle. The road is then ready to be opened to traffic.
